2nd IUGG Symposium on Planetary Sciences (IUGG-PS2026)

New Observations and Advances in Solar System

September 21–23, 2026 · Wuhan, China

About IUGG-PS2026

With the successful completion of recent lunar and Mars missions, a new era has begun for the observation and exploration of the Solar System. Planetary science is an increasingly interdisciplinary field propelled forward by advances in space exploration and ground-based observations.

Detailed characterization of planetary environments within and beyond our Solar System requires collaborative studies across the fields of geology, atmospheric science, geophysics, geodesy, astronomy, geochemistry, astrobiology, and remote sensing. The 2nd IUGG Symposium on Planetary Sciences (IUGG-PS2026) aims to bring together international scientists and engineers focused on interdisciplinary research on the exploration and science of the Solar System and the search for life beyond Earth. Topics include planetary geodesy, remote sensing, atmospheres, geomorphology, geophysics, geodynamics, geology, geochemistry, interior physics, and astrobiology. All objects from terrestrial and giant planets to small bodies and exoplanets are welcome.

The IUGG-PS2026 is sponsored by the IUGG Union Commission on Planetary Sciences (UCPS), the International Association of Planetary Sciences (IAPS), Wuhan University and Henan Polytechnic University. The UCPS was established by the Executive Committee of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) in June 2015 to advance emerging and existing interdisciplinary research on planetary sciences.
